Privacy Policy — K-Drama Culture Guide

Last updated: April 13, 2026

K-Drama Culture Guide (“the Extension”) is a Chrome browser extension that helps international K-drama fans understand Korean cultural elements using AI-powered explanations.

This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

Data We Collect

1. Anonymous User ID (UUID)

When you install the Extension, a random unique identifier (UUID) is generated and stored locally on your device. This ID is used solely to manage your daily free question limit (5 questions per day). It is not linked to your name, email, or any personal information.

2. Questions You Ask

When you submit a question through the Extension, the question text is sent to our server to generate a response. We log the question text for service improvement purposes (identifying popular topics to improve our built-in glossary). Question logs are stored with only the first 4 characters of your UUID for aggregate analysis — they cannot be traced back to you individually.

3. Cached Responses

Previously answered questions and their responses are cached on our server to provide faster answers and reduce costs. Cached data contains only the question-answer pair with no user-identifying information.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Data Retention

Data Type Retention Period
Usage count (daily question limit) 2 days
Question logs 90 days
Cached responses 30 days
Local UUID Stored on your device until you uninstall the Extension

All server-side data is automatically deleted after the retention period expires.

Third-Party Services

Anthropic Claude API

When you ask a question that is not answered by the built-in glossary or server cache, your question is sent to the Anthropic Claude API to generate a response. Anthropic’s privacy policy applies to this processing. Your question is sent without any personal identifiers. For more information, see Anthropic’s Privacy Policy.

Cloudflare

Our server runs on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare may process standard connection metadata (IP address, request headers) as part of its infrastructure services. For more information, see Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
